Obedience 101 was a lifesaver for our new rescue dog and for us; the class was excellent. Robina is a fantastic teacher!

I would highly recommend Dream Dogs Obedience and Public Manners classes. My dogs and I had wonderful experiences. The rewards of a well-mannered, obedient dog are priceless!
"We are extremely pleased to have Dream Dogs on-site to offer our clients an opportunity to work with their dogs. The class offers a wonderful variety of basic commands to improve the bond between dog and owner".

Robina is a wonderful coach and dog trainer. She was especially good with my 9 year old daughter who wanted to take the lead with training our dog.
Paws in Training and
Hope Animal Rescue in Durham have joined together
to participate in NC's
New Leash On Life program. Helping inmates train rescue dogs for improved adoption into forever homes. She is a volunteer trainer.
Robina Thornton is a certified dog trainer and behavior consultant. She has been a dog lover all of her life and trained her first dog when she was only 12 years old. She has a gift for connecting with animals; they respond to her almost immediately. After over 20 years in corporate America in the software industry, she broke free to devote herself to training canines and educating owners to create a positive relationship between them. Robina completed an intensive six months hands-on training program to solidify her dog training knowledge. She graduated from K9 Solutions Academy in 2009 where she participated in kennel operations, private in-home consults, and taught group classes. Robina has a unique approach that she has developed through years of personal experience and research. Robina will teach you how important your body language can be to get your dog to comply and understand your commands. She will also make sure you have a chance to apply what you are learning throughout the process whether you attend group, semi-private or private sessions. "Following my passion as a second career is truly a blessing."
Robina has developed several programs, each designed to achieve specific results. Her approach is not one size fits all.
Some of Robina's programs include:
Bootcamp - training in my home for several weeks
Public Manners Weekly Walks
Standard, Extended, & Off Leash Obedience Training
Quasar, aka Zar, was our pure bred black lab who lost his battle with lung cancer
at twelve years old in May of 2014. A Quasar is the most luminous, powerful, and
energetic object known in the universe. He abounded energy and was obsessed with
retrieving tennis balls in our pond in Fuquay Varina. He was from a line of hunting labs
and he definitely inherited the retrieving gene. Dock Diving in Maine in Sebago Lake
was his idea of the perfect vacation each August. He was a bit of a mama's boy but
we loved him in spite of himself! He received his Pet Therapy certification and we
used to go to an assisted living facility in Fuquay. Every Thursday went to
Salem Elementary School with the See Spot Read program where the children
read to the dogs. Zar got so excited when he knew that was where we are headed. He had been going there long enough that he loved strutting down the halls "letting" all the kids admire him. And the kids (and teachers) all loved it!
Trey was our baby and received his name because he was the third dog at the
time that we acquired him. He is now ten years old and the reigning "old man" and
was found as a baby at a boat marina by some friends of ours. He is a German Shepherd
and Lab mix and is our pack watch dog. He guards our "perimeter" and keeps us on alert
to any infiltrators. He is quite proud of his ability to scare away the UPS man after
he makes his delivery. Little does he know that the UPS man would be on his way with
or without his watchful eye. Trey loves to chase squirrels and bunnies in our one-acre
yard and also enjoys a great game of ball. He is seen here on vacation on the shore of
Sebago Lake, Maine. His favorite place on earth! He has also earned his Pet Therapy
certification and goes to Salem Elementary School which he really loves to do but he is
afraid of the scary linoleum tile!
